What are the system requirements for running 12Planet Forum Server?

On the client side you need simply a Netscape 3.0 or above, IE3.0 or above compatible web browser, no install, no plugin needed. On the server side, here are the specifications:

Operating System: Solaris, Linux, Windows NT4/2000/XP, other Unix
Processor: Pentium II 300 MHz or equivalent or higher
Memory: 128 MB RAM
Hard Drive: 30 MB free disk space
Database: not required

Can I customize the look and feel of the forum?

What are the basic steps to install the Forum Server software?

Here are the steps:
- select your Linux/Solaris/Windows2000 machine on which you have the rights to install a server program
- make sure there is a Java VM installed, if not install one. The Java VM is free and can be downloaded from IBM for Linux, from SUN for Solaris, and is standard on Windows 2000 (takes about 10 minutes if you need to install it)
- install 12Planet Forum Server, which takes up about 5 minutes
- start the Forum Server, you are all set if you use the standard setup.
